What To Expect In A First Session...

Once you have made contact, we will arrange an appointments, which will be an introduction and assessment session.

At the beginning of this session, you will have an opportunity to ask any questions you have. If at this point it doesn’t feel right for you we can say our goodbyes and there will be no fee.

If you choose to continue we do an assessment, for which the session rate is payable. This is an opportunity for you to tell me about yourself, your background history and talk about what is going on for you and what you hope to get from coming.

No therapy takes place at this stage. If I feel that I am not the right person to help you I will talk this through with you.

During this session, you can arrange further sessions and we would sign an agreement to work together.

Location of Sessions

I work in North Tyneside (North Shields and Whitley Bay) and also Jesmond in Newcastle upon Tyne. All locations provide a secure and safe environment where you will feel well looked after.

The counselling rooms are accessed via a staircase and there is on street and paid parking in the surrounding areas.

Please contact me if you need further access information.

How Much Does It Cost?

Individual sessions last 50 minutes and cost £45 (North Shields/Whitley Bay),

£50 (Newcastle upon Tyne).

I offer a reduced rate for Counselling Students in North Shields.

Sessions are usually weekly and people can come for periods of weeks and months, some for longer.

If you choose to undertake long term therapy the cost can be substantial and should be considered carefully.

Cancellation Policy:

We both commit to being available for your agreed sessions.
If you wish to cancel you must give 3 days notice.

If you cancel later than this the full session fee will be payable

It is important to note that counselling and psychotherapy are generally recognised as beneficial but sometimes this isn't always the case.

Choosing a counsellor or psychotherapist can be a big decision and it is important to feel that the person you choose is right for you.

If you decide to come to therapy it is a big step towards looking after yourself. You will find a place to speak freely about what is troubling you, you will feel supported and where you will not be judged.
